Performance and tracking cookies

In addition to the mandatory functional cookies, our website uses optional cookies, which are related to website visitor tracking and are used in developing the user experience of the website and monitoring and improving the results of our customer communication.

For this purpose, we use analytics software provided by a third party (Matomo, matomo.org), which sets a tracking cookie on the user's computer. 

Tracking cookies help us to track information about visitors, which include the following:

 IP address (from which 2 bytes are hidden)

  • Estimated location based on IP address: country, region, locality, approximate latitude and longitude (geolocation)
  • Date and time of request (site visit)
  • Title of the page to be viewed (Page Title)
  • Web address of the page to be viewed (Page URL)
  • The web address of the previously viewed page (Referrer URL)
  • The screen resolution of the user's device
  • The time in the visitor's time zone
  • Clicked and downloaded files (Download)
  • Links to the clicked external domain (Outlink)
  • Page generation time (time starting from when the pages are generated on the server and ending when the visitor downloads them: Page speed)
  • The main language of the browser being used (Accept-Language header)
  • Browser version, browser extensions (PDF, Flash, Java...), operating system version, device ID (User-Agent header)
  • The language of the opened page
  • Campaigns
  • Site search

Information derived from user tracking, based on optional cookies, may be used for personal communication based on other data, such as information produced by advertising management systems about the ads you see and click on, as well as with information collected by our own customer management system about your communication with us, for example using personal links in newsletters. Website visit information is not used on a personal level, but for statistical monitoring, for example to see which pages are visited often, how visitors navigate from one page to another, how often readers of a certain newsletter or advertisement visit the pages, how often visitors return to the pages and from which geographical area the pages are visited. Information derived from user tracking, based on optional cookies, may be used for personal communication based on other data. Our site additionally uses Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. For this purpose, the Google tag (gtag.js) running on our site processes, with your consent, the ad click identifier (GCLID) and technical event data (e.g., event timestamp, page URL, basic browser information) so that actions taken on our site (e.g., a form submission or a purchase) can be attributed to the relevant ad. After consent, the tag may set first‑party gcl* cookies (typically retained for up to 90 days) for this attribution purpose. Without consent, advertising cookies are not set.

We also use cookies from our advertising partners on our site, if the visitor allows optional cookies. Our advertising partners may use cookies to build a profile of your interests and display ads of interest to you on other sites. Cookies identify the browser and the device.
