Gijs-Jan Schüssler is Harbor Master and Manager Safety & Security at Port of Moerdijk, one of the Netherlands’ key industrial and logistics hubs. He is responsible for strategic and operational safety, security, and port regulation, ensuring smooth and sustainable maritime operations. With a background in the Dutch Ministry of Defence and applied research at TNO, he brings over 20 years of experience in security operations, crisis management, and organisational leadership. At Port of Moerdijk, he leads efforts to create a safe, efficient and robust port environment. Gijs-Jan combines strategic vision with a people-centered approach to complex safety challenges.
